Notes from King Chiikawa
Takoyaki (たこ焼) is one of Osaka's most iconic street foods, consisting of bite-sized balls of batter filled with pieces of octopus and cooked in a special molded pan. Typically topped with savory sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and aonori, takoyaki originated in Osaka in the 1930s and has since become popular throughout Japan.
