Notes from King Chiikawa
Shachihoko (しゃちほこ) are mythical creatures with the head of a tiger and the body of a carp, traditionally used as ornamental roof decorations on Japanese castles. Nagoya is particularly associated with the famous golden shachihoko that adorn Nagoya Castle, which have become enduring symbols of the city.
