Notes from King Chiikawa
Yamagata Prefecture is Japan's most famous cherry-growing region and produces the majority of the country's cherries. Its climate, with distinct seasons and large temperature differences between day and night, is well suited to cherry cultivation. Cherries have become one of Yamagata's most recognizable regional specialties.
